Advocacy.   Empowerment.  Community.

Creating Solutions:
As a community we can no longer deny that our youth, from a multitude of factors, are at serious risk.  We've learned that these risks are not bounded by race, income brackets, geographical areas, or level of education.  And the statistics no longer afford the mindset that it’s not “my problem”.  Directly or indirectly, everyone is affected by the outcome of an aging generation of wounded youth and the consequences of our inaction, our failure to provide them with the foundation they need, carries a sharp reprisal.

During the cross country journey issuing the 2010 Youth Remap Challenge, one common theme became apparent; as a Nation we do not lack resources, we lack unity.  We have divided and individualized our resources, and in doing so we've forgotten the power of a bonded community.  If we connected these individual communities, shared information, combined our efforts and resources, then together we could combat any issues our youth face.

Empowered to create solutions, the Youth Remap Challenge became a twofold project, and Search for Amnesia (SFA) began to build a community that cares about our forgotten youth and the issues that put them at-risk.  Together we advocate, educate, build awareness, connect resources, and rally support.  We strive to empower our youth, provide the tools for those who wish to build and to give voices to those who are not able to speak for themselves.

We believe our youth is the future, they have the strength and resolve to create solutions, and community is the path that will lead them there.

The Core of community:

As a community we are a resource center providing our youth with the tools and support they need to help themselves.  We are exposure to different cultures, environments, mindsets and inspiration.  Together we

encourage, strengthen their endeavors and empower them with the ability to create choices.  We are mentors, families, advocates, volunteers, and educators who seek to help create a path worth traveling, as we believe without a path there is no community, and without community there is no worthy path.

We Need You:
Join our community movement!  Although we are still in the beginning stages of developing the SFA project, we need your help to create the foundation.  Our initial project focus is to gather information and resources from across the nation, and to develop a forum to house, filter and connect.  I've listed several needs categories below, please get involved, pull together and share resources from your local community.  Contact us and let us know how you would like to participate.

  • Expand our community of mentors, advocates, volunteers, and educators seeking to positively impact the lives of our youth and the future of our community.
  • Combine a list of Youth Advocates and volunteers by state and area of focus.
  • Create a database of organizations geared towards servicing at-risk youth.
  • Connect youth organizations with businesses looking to regularly volunteer company resources (marketing, accounting, support) which help support youth services.
  • Connect and support families and youth in crisis.
  • Collect and share grant and funding resources.
  • Create a business resource center for youth organizations, to provide proven success strategies, coaching, resources and self-sustaining concepts.
  • We need web developers and tech savvy volunteers to help us create our community forum.

Commit to Community.

Help them believe they can remap their lives, and they’ll be empowered.
Show them it can be done, and they will be inspired.
Remind them they can do anything, then give way to their determination.
